World Masters 2025 - Singapore
Back at the beginning of the season, we let everyone know that our club is interested in attending this competition in summer 2025. We would like to hear from everyone, attending or not attending, so we can account for everyone's decision.
Regardless of your decision, please do the following before Jan 7/8:
Tell you coach (if you haven't already)
Fill in this survey with your answer (it is a yes/no question): https://forms.gle/D2ZKWenBEKvp9jGU8
The rest of this post is a copy-paste of Rhonda's email from November with the details for the competition. We are here to support you in making the best decision for you, so please reach out if you need anything else from the exec team!

Travel
Rhonda will book travel for our 3 coaches and you are expected to book your own travel. A few airlines have 1 direct flight per day. Note that you will be crossing the international date line so you will have to leave YVR 2 days before you plan to arrive. You get back the day coming home and will arrive on the same day you depart
Price varies from $1700 for connecting flights and $2000 - $2500 for direct flights. I suggest using Expedia or Skyscanner to track flight prices but you will probably get the best deals on Black Friday (Nov 29) or Cyber Monday (Dec 2).
Registration information:
Rhonda will register the team - more info to come
Registration opens: January 28, 2025
Registration deadline: June 26, 2025
Registration fees:
Athletes $90 USD
Coaches $60 USD
Companions $60 USD
Team entry fees: solos: $25 USD

Let the coaches know if you plan to swim a solo or duet. For the most part, the routines will be trained without a coach. Depending on pool space you can come on the weeknight you don't have team practice. We may have a few extra routine practice times upcoming depending on coach availability and cost.
Accommodation
World Aquatics will release a list of sponsor hotels likely in the new year
In the meantime, Emma has compiled a list of affordable hotels in Singapore. We have decided to choose a central hotel where the coaches will stay. You may elect to stay somewhere else with your family but you should plan for team meetings or land drill sessions at the group hotel.

Fundraising
We would like to get the fundraising up and running as soon as possible. Please let Stef know if you have any fundraising ideas or if you would like to join the fundraising committee.
Each squad going to Worlds will need to have a representative on the fundraising committee who can help plan fundraising events and communicate with your team.
Group fundraisers: ie pub nights or trivia nights
Money raised will go towards offsetting coaches travel expenses
Individual fundraisers: ie Krispy Kreme sales, Purdy’s sales etc
Half of the money raised will go towards coaches travel and the other half will go towards the personal accounts of those who are raising the money. If you are staffing a table it will be divided towards the people who are staffing the table.
