The City of Vancouver is asking for public response on their first draft of their aquatics strategy for the city over the next 25 years.
Some highlights of what they're planning on doing:
-consolidating neighbourhood pools (like Britannia, or Templeton) that are under-used into 'city destinations' that are much larger and have more amenities (think Hillcrest). Britannia will be rebuilt and will replace both Britannia and Templeton
-planning a 'sport-centred' facility in Connaught Park (this is to replace Lord Byng pool)
-Replace Kerrisdale with a new community pool as part of an overall arena/community centre rebuild
-Replace Vancouver Aquatic Centre with a new 'wellness-oriented' centre on the same site
The city is asking "did we get it right?" So now is your chance to complete their survey and provide some input.
