Highlights from the meeting that aren't on info sheet:
September will be an all-club training camp: We have a speed swimming coach for two sessions and we will be doing basic skills training camp for the entire club.
Once September is over, we will separate into distinct teams and begin working on routines. Once September is over, we'll be swimming Tues/Sun and Wed/Sun. The rough estimate is that black team (i.e. the team that has more synchro experience as kids and competed typically at a provincial/national level) will likely swim Wed/Sun and red team (i.e. the team that tends to have swimmers who came to synchro as adults and/or competed recreationally as kids) will swim Tues/Sun.
We are still considering changing pools, depending on swimmer preferences. Rhonda (our treasurer) ran some budget estimates and it looks like for pool time and coaching we would be looking at $125-150/month for two nights at Britannia and $150-200/month for 1 night at Britannia and 1 night at Templeton.
Pros of Templeton: slightly nicer pool, earlier weekday swim times (9pm-10:30).
Cons of Templeton: cost - we need to hire two lifeguards, whereas Britannia allows only one.
Club Executive verdict: We are staying at Britannia for September - we will assess at the end of September once we have a firm idea of club numbers.
Synchro BC registration closes October 15th - so if you want to swim any competitions this season, we'll need to know by October 15th.
